The Human Communication Technologies Laboratory is building an ongoing project called “Mixing Shadows into Video Imagery”. The project captures silhouettes of moving objects which will be positioned on previously recorded backgrounds to produce an interactive video artwork.

Human tracking systems are popular research topics in computer vision industries. The project will be required to develop a certain kind of motion tracking software as one of its step toward the final goal.Currently, the project has not yet completed the step that captures the moving objects.The development for this step will be the focus in the paper.
